In the Red Pyramid, siblings Carter and Sadie find out that they are magicians when there dad blows up the Rosetta Stone. They then travel to Brooklyn with there uncle Amos (who also is a magician) to the 21st nome. Where they figure out that a evil god named set is rising to power. Then Amos who went to look for set is captured. Then the 21st nome is attacked and Sadie's cat muffin turns into bast and she kills the monsters. While trying to get to Arizona by using a portal bast is defeated and Carter and Sadie flee to the local museum where they find Zia who after defeating Serqet rakes them to Egypt where they go to the 1st nome to be trained.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy, adventure and a little history mixed in. This book reminds me of The Lightning Thief because they both involve gods from different places coming to the present world.
