The
Crossover by Kwame Alexander
The Crossover by Kwame Alexander is a book about two brothers,
mainly Josh Bell (the other is Jordan) who both love basketball and their
father is Chuck Bell who is a an Italian basketball player who has won several
European championships. Josh Bell is a
great forward player with a killer crossover that could break your ankles and a
nice dunk. Jordan Bell is a great shooting guard with a game winning free throw
shot. What makes them so great is that together as twin brothers, they are
Kings on the court. However their teamwork is shattered when Jordan falls in
love with a girl name Alexis or as Josh likes to call her Miss Sweet Tea
because she is always giving Jordan Tea and taking time with Josh’s brother
away from him. During a basketball game Josh really broke Jordan’s teamwork
when he gave a hard chest pass to Jordan which gave him a nosebleed.
Josh
became suspended from the team because of the chest pass and Chuck discovered
after he had been eating a lot of unhealthy foods that he would suffer from
hypertension just like his father. Because he didn’t like hospitals he decided
not to go and he ultimately suffered from three fainting spells during Josh’s
basketball season when he got back on the basketball team and was no longer suspended. Despite the fact that Josh ended up
winning his father had passed away because of a heart attack. In conclusion this
ultimately brought Josh and Jordan’s teamwork back together when his father
told them before he passed away to always be there for each other. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a
little family drama and basketball. Not only does this book have a touching
story, the book has bars. This book is definitely a big shot.
