The Death Cure by James Dasher
The Death Cure by James Dashner is about how a boy named Thomas and his
friends try to escape and destroy the righteous
yet misguided WICKED organization who wants to make a cure for the flare
from tested Immune people to save the human race. When Thomas manages to find
his friends and escape, WICKED tries to make them stay so that they can do harmful
and dangerous experiments on them for the cure and Thomas was the key to the
cure. When Thomas escapes with his friends Minho, Jorge, Brenda and his
infected friend Newt into the outside world. Thomas learns what it’s like to
feel somewhat free, but discovers and outbreak of cranks: people corrupted by
the Flare’s symptoms.
Thomas and his friends meet and form an alliance with his old enemy Gally and the organization right arm who plans to destroy WICKED. Unfortunately Thomas’ friend Newt turned into a crank and was going to try to hurt him and his friends so Thomas had to kill Newt and he realized he had to back to WICKED but to only help right arm destroy WICKED. After Thomas infiltrates WICKED with right arm, he is almost killed by WICKED’s experiments but WICKED’s leader realizes that in order to save the human race they had to preserve the rest of the immune humans that could survive. In conclusion despite many deaths and fights WICKED had started, Thomas was able to salvage all of the immune and escape the exploding wicked facility to lead the immunes to a peaceful life and new civilization. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys books with adventure, survival and action.
