To all boys I've loved before
"To all the boys I've loved before" by Jenny Han is about an Asian- American girl named Laura-Jean she lives in a small town with her two sisters, one older and on younger and her father after their mother dies. Things have been fine in Laura-jean's life up until her older sister is going off to college, that's when everything starts to fall apart. You see Laura-Jean has had a few boys that she has ever loved during her whole life and when she feels like she needs to move on she writes letters to them pouring her heart out just so that she's sure she's over that boy. She kept them in a hat box that her mother gave her, and after she writes a letter about her latest love Josh he older sisters boyfriend, all the letters get sent out to the boys that she wrote them too. And Laura-Jean doesn't want to make things awkward with her older sister's ex boyfriend so she lies and says that the most popular boy in the school is her boyfriend. And after he hears about this he has an idea to have the two of them fake date so that she can make Josh jealous and so that he can make is ex girlfriend jealous. The majority of the book is them acting like a couple while actually starting to develop feelings for each other. As the story starts to end their school goes on a skiing trip and someone starts a rumor that the fake couple had sex in a hot tub, which kills their relationship, or does it? Have to find out in the second book!
