This book is about a tenth grader Jamie (Jamilah) is a Lebanese Muslim who just wants to fit in at her Australian school. She wears blue contacts and bleaches her hair blonde in an attempt to assimilate. It works, but when her strict and traditional father's rules keep her from going to parties or dating boys who ask her out, she lies to her friends rather that admit the truth. When her friends begin to ask about her life outside of school, Jamie fears that the two worlds she tried so hard to keep separate will collide. Unfortunetly this book doesnt connect to me but it connects to the world because alot of people take their religion seriously and cant do all things that other friends can do.I would recommend this book to girls that have the same issues and see what they can learn from this book or what they can take from this book.
