The city of ember by Jeanne Duprau
city of ember is about a town with only darkness in all directions. the city provides lighting but as of lately the light has began to flicker. A young named Lina girl who finds a ripped up old note. she suspects that the note is a way out of ember. her friend named Doon works in the city's water and gas pipes below the city. When she shares the information about the note they figure out each ripped up word and they are led to the outside world where they see the sun. they discover in the end that The City Of Ember that they have been living in a came their whole lives. they realize that someone set them up to embark on this journey.
I would connect this book to The lost boy because there is loss in both books and the main characters in both books are both kids around the same age one girl one boy. in both books the characters embark on a long journey to discover the truth.
I would recommend this to young teens and anyone who likes mystery.
